The nurse practitioner provides direct m! edical services to patients in the field of bariatric and metabolic medicine.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
The scope of practice includes taking patient histories, performing physical examinations, diagnosing and treating injuries and illnesses, ordering and interpreting laboratory tests, prescribing medications and providing patient counseling services and patient education. These services are provided under the direction of supervisory physician(s).
MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
Master’s Degree in Family Nurse Practice
MINIMUM YEARS OF EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
2 years experience with internist, family practice or specialty of endocrine, bariatrics or metabolic medicine.
REQUIRED LICENSE, REGISTRY OR CERTIFICATION
Certification from the National Association of Family Nurse Practitioners is required.. The Nurse Practitioner must hold a current, valid license from the State of NJ, Division of Consumer Affair! s.
DESIRED OR PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND/OR ABIL! ITY
Experience with weight loss, bariatrics or metabolic medicine preferred but not required.
