The VA Delaware & Southern New Jersey Healthcare System is recruiting for a full-time Physician (Primary Care), VM-0602. This position is located at the Community Based Outpatient Clinic's in Southern, New Jersey. Incumbent will cover Atlantic County and Cape May County Community Based Outpatient Clinic's.

This VA serves veterans throughout the state of Delaware, southern New Jersey, eastern Maryland and southeastern Pennsylvania. Wilmington offers easy access to I-95 to cultural and recreational opportunities in Philadelphia, New York, Baltimore, MD and Washington, DC. Major league sports abound in Philadelphia, sailing on the Chesapeake Bay and swimming at Atlantic coast beaches are popular summer activities.! Wintertime is ski time in the nearby Pocono Mountains. Incumbent serves as the Patient Aligned Care Team (PACT) leader providing comprehensive outpatient care to the Veteran population presenting with complex and interdependent acute and chronic conditions.

He/she provides advice by telephone and/or in person to Veterans,other physicians, non-physician providers, nursing, and para-professional staff on the care of patients with urgent, emergent and non-urgent medical problems.

Facilitates and manage full spectrum of professional and patient care activities for the Patient Aligned Care Team (PACT). Evaluates and analyzes how the team provides care through a continuum thereby facilitating the achievement of efficient, high quality and cost effective healthcare through excellent performance measures.

This position will work with a multidisciplinary team integrated with nursing, social worker, dietitian, clinical pharmacist, psychologist, and case managers. !

The primary care PACT program provides services at the community based outpatient clinics in Southern New Jersey. These practices serve an integral role in the provision of expanded primary and preventative medical services, including Primary Care Women's Health.

Candidate must be a Board Eligible or Board Certified General Internist or family practitioner with outstanding clinical and interpersonal skills. Experience/training in Primary Care Women's Health preferred.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:BASIC REQUIREM ENTS:
U.S. citizenship. Non-citizens may be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy.
Must have a Degree of doctor of medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in medicine or osteopathic medicine. The degree must have been obtained from one of the schools approved by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs for the year in which the course of study was! completed. Approved schools are: 1) Schools of medicine holding regula! r institutional membership in the Association of American Medical Colleges for the year in which the degree was granted; 2) Schools of Osteopathic Medicine approved by the American Osteopathic Association for the year in which the degree was granted; 3) Schools (including foreign schools) accepted by the licensing body of a State, Territory, or commonwealth (i.e. Puerto Rico), or in the District of Columbia as qualifying for full or unrestricted licensure.
Current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia. Must be board eligible or board certified in Internal Medicine or Family Practice recognized by the American Board of Medical Specialties OR American Osteopathic Association. Physicians, including residents, appointed to direct patient care positions must be proficient in spoken and written English as required by 38 USC 7402(d) and 7407(d).
