Janssen Pharmaceuticals Inc., a member of Johnson & Johnson's Family of Companies, is recruiting for National Sales Director, Internal Medicine Specialty Sales Force. This important position is based in Raritan, NJ and requires travel to conduct employee work sessions, sales meetings, training and development sessions, and customer visits.

The National Sales Director (NSD) is a pivotal position for us. Highly effective leadership is vital to our success in achieving our vision and executing our mission. We are focused on launch excellence and superior results across our portfolio of products.

The role of the NSD is crucial to helping our sales force develop such capabilities as customer expertise, business insight, and collaboration -- all of which help position us as a trusted and valued partner to our cust! omers, ensuring that we outperform the competition. The NSD mu! st embody the trust and respect that serves as the foundation for our culture of engagement.

NSDs are responsible for leading 4 - 6 Specialty Sales Region Business Directors, 30 - 40 Specialty Sales District Managers, and 250 - 350 Specialty Sales Representatives. Their business focus can include Integrated Delivery Networks, Hospital Systems, Academic Medical Centers, Clinics, Large Group Practices and a variety of specialty healthcare professionals. These include cardiologists, endocrinologists, internists, hospitalists, emergency medicine, and D/C Suite Administrators.

Under the direction of the NSD, specialty sales representatives must work collaboratively as ONE Team with other Internal Medicine and North America Pharmaceutical Sales Forces to help to advance patient care and deliver exceptional value.

NSD position is responsible for:
Strategic Planning and Delivery of Business Results

Establishes and executes a comprehens! ive business plan for the Business Unit which aligns Franchise and Brand Strategy with current market conditions, to drive business results.

Identifies and coordinates resources, monitors operating expenses, and maintains key relationships essential to achieving growth and profitability targets, regardless of market conditions.

Proactively leads the team in achieving and exceeding goals.

Talent Acquisition and Talent Management:
Elevates the sales team to a high performance, outcomes-focused, organization where diversity and inclusion are valued, and where the team's skills, knowledge, and abilities continually evolve to meet future needs.

Consistently strives to achieve performance excellence.

Technical and Operational Skills:
Develops and applies next generation analytics, knowledge of the marketplace, clinical, and customer expertise.

Purpose: to gather, interpret, and leverage meaningful ! insights and maximize business results.

Qualifications
At least 10 years of experience in pharmaceutical, medical device or other healthcare industry is required. Sales management experience is required. Significant sales experience is required. At least 4 years of other functional experience is preferred (i.e., in marketing, managed markets, marketing research, new product or business development, operations, finance, human resources, IT, and/or strategic planning). Cardiovascular or thrombosis therapeutic area experience is preferred. Expertise in U.S. healthcare industry sales and an understanding of key stakeholders in the healthcare environment is required. Significant experience in driving growth and profitability, strategic planning, development and coaching, finance and budgets, technical and industry knowledge, business analytics, cross functional partnerships, customer management, negotiation, prioritization, efficiency, productivity and deployment is required. Significant experience managing managers and profession! als, preferably in Cardiovascular sales, managed markets, marketing and similar settings is required. Demonstrated ability to lead and influence with or without authority is required.
