Who are we looking for?

A LAN/Deskside Support Administrator to work on-site assisting users with day-to-day support issues. This is an entry level role; training will be provided and we will support you with Microsoft certification. The role is part of the Service Assurance team which manages all infrastructure both onsite and cloud based so you will be given opportunities to upskill in the full technology domain. This role will be full time on site in one of the Carne Group Offices (Dublin, Kilkenny (also serving Wexford), Luxembourg and London)


What are the minimum requirements for the role?

  • A Third Level Qualification in IT or any other discipline. If your degree is not related to IT, we will consider you if you can demonstrate a strong interest in this field, along with self-motivated learning.
  • As this is a graduate level role you do not need to have specific certifications or qualifications in IT. We are looking for someone who wants to have a career in IT - an interest in IT, a willingness to learn, a good customer facing manner and a thirst for knowledge are the most important attributes.

Desirable Licences or Certifications:

  • IAT, COMPTIA Security+, CCNA, ITIL, Azure fundamentals

What is your role and responsibilities?

  • Monitor and respond to user hardware and software problems
  • Troubleshoot hardware issues, laptops, and servers
  • Coordinate and implementing network software and hardware upgrades Troubleshooting and resolving LAN/WAN performance, connectivity and related network problems
  • Maintains helpdesk work instructions and ensures they are posted on the service management system
  • Review current and future software and hardware technologies and presents recommendations to IT Operations Lead
  • Direct compilation of records and reports concerning network and systems operations and maintenance
  • Interface with vendor support service groups to ensure proper escalation during outages or periods of degraded system performance
