Sr. Procurement Productivity Transformation Manager, Novartis, Prague, Czech Republic

The role has significant strategic impact on the successful transformation of Procurement and ensures its effective implementation and meeting the objectives through Procurement Leadership Team (PLT) and key customer commitment and engagement.

The ideal candidate brings strong track record in driving and delivering large-scale transformation programs in high matrix organizations. The role scope is global and requires the ability to engage intentionally with senior stakeholders through a ‘systems’ mind-set, leveraging data and analytics, to provide high-quality insights that enable sound decision-making.

Your key responsibilities:
Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Manage end-to-end Procurement Productivity transformation & strategy
  • Lead global transformation activities within different work streams
  • Ensure global end-to-end Procurement productivity transformations are effectively implemented and objectives are met through PLT and key customers’ commitment and engagement
  • Support creation and execution of Procurement strategy
  • Track transformation progress and report back to leadership teams where required
  • Ensure strong project management & governance
  • Initiate, lead and support impactful programs or/and projects and their delivery in accordance with project goals, timescales, costs, Novartis methodologies and own defined approach
  • Ensure delivery of measurable value for Novartis, through proper project management related to the transformation of Procurement’s function
  • Assess, guide and support Procurement extended leadership team in their effort to implement the new operating model leading to the adoption of new ways of working consistent with Procurement transformation and Novartis overall Procurement objectives
  • Lead specific training activities resulting from new processes, standards and ways of working.
  • Ensure successful project reviews and best practice sharing

Minimum requirements

What you’ll bring to the role:

  • Master’s Degree/other advanced degree in Business, Finance, Economics or similar is required
  • Additional qualifications (CIPS, Project Management, etc.) or similar professional qualifications preferred.
  • 10-20 years of relevant business experience in high matrix organizations
  • Ability to build and manage key stakeholder relationships in a matrix organization and across geographies and cultures
  • Proven experience of working successfully in a collaborative team environment across different cultures, operating with and influencing others to achieve a common objective
  • Significant experience managing end-to-end project lifecycles including scoping, problem-framing, detail planning, and driving all elements of project execution including Change and Communication management
  • Advance analytical skills supporting C-level decision-making, including being able to derive insights from data, and visualize them in a compelling manner (mainly leveraging MS Excel and PowerPoint)
  • Excellent communication skill including the ability to communicate clearly and concisely in spoken and written English

Desirable requirements:
  • Preferably >10 years of experience in Procurement or other related experience within the Healthcare/Pharmaceutical industry with a focus on the strategy and transformation
  • Understanding and experience in analysing spend, demand, supply markets and competitors. Understanding and projecting the dynamics and impacts (e.g., mergers and acquisitions). Extracting, cleansing, and consolidating information to fact-based insights for further usage
